Alpha Group / Me3 Foundation Day 2

Today, after a short breakfast and story time (courtesy of Billy) we made our way down to Centre Island. Originally, we planned to go to Ottawa, but it turns out we didn’t manage to get enough tickets for all 18 of us, so we decided to go to Centre Island instead. When we got there, Kenny had a lecture planned for all the students. The students had a great time drawing the beautiful scenery. Now we get to the main event of the day, free time! We divided ourselves into 3 groups, Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie, then made our separate ways to explore Centre Island. Unfortunately, some of us didn’t manage to get back on the agreed time, and Billy had a lecture about punctuality all planned out. After a second lesson from Kenny, (this time about their dreams and ambitions) we all went on another trip around Centre Island. At around 6:00 we left Centre Island, and made our way to Chinatown in downtown Toronto to eat an amazing dinner, thanks Billy! Anyways, after this long and tiring day, we’re all ready to turn in for bed. Good night, and we’ll post again tomorrow!

Today was very exciting. I had a lot of fun. We went to Centre Island. (Toronto Island) There’s a lot of food and rides. I ate a lot of cotton candy. Then we went to China Town (A restaurant) and it was really good. Tomorrow we are going to build kayaks for the entire day! I am very excited for the next journey.

Marco

Today is Canada Day. We went to Centre Island. Centre Island is very fun, but I wasted 9 tickets. We ate chinese food in China Town. It was fun today. I wrote less then yesterday, because I am really tired.

Mike

Today is Canada Day, so we were originally going to Ottawa to watch the parade and other stuff. However, Billy’s friend couldn’t get enough spots for us to watch the parade, so we ended up going to Centre Island. In Centre Island, we mainly stayed at the amusement park. For me, the park was OK, but I didn’t really like it because I don’t like rides. For dinner, we went to Chinatown for some Canadian made Chinese food. Tomorrow, we should learn how to build a kayak. I hope it’s fun and exciting.

Today is the second day and we went to Centre Island, and ate food. It was good. We also visited the military base, it was cool, although we never saw the weapons. Tomorrow, we are learning how to build a kayak. Jacky told me it’s going to take the whole day.

Today was the second day of camp and Canada day. We had breakfast at HQ. We had a “Korean” bun and crackers. Then, we visited the military base in Toronto. We saw different groups in a big room and different teams. We also took many pictures. We then walked to Toronto Harbour and took a ferry to Centre Island. At Centre Island, we had a creative art class, and then had lunch. For lunch, we had a roast beef sandwich with cheese. Next, we went in our groups and took off to the amusement park. We played for an hour and went back to the meeting place for another class. We then played at the park for two hours more. We traveled to Chinatown and had a traditional Chinese meal. It was so good! That was the end of day two.

Crystal

Today was the second day of Monticle camp. For breakfast, we had meat buns and apples. Then we departed to Centre Island. But before we walked to the harbour, we visited the military base in Downtown Toronto. After visiting the military base, we rode the ferry to go to Centre Island. We had a lot of fun playing on rides at Centreville and having self-learning activities. Later on, we went to Chinatown and had a delicious Chinese dinner with chicken and lobster.

James

Today was so tiring. Well, because I had two sugar tubes, two pops and some ice cream on centre island. The dinner was pretty good but I need rest.

Geoffrey

Today, when I finished breakfast, we went to military base and Center Island to do activities. We are supposed to go to Ottawa to celebrate Canada’s Day, but Billy just got 6 tickets which was not enough for us. I got a better understanding of time management. We played games and admired the view in center. At night time we ate seafood, beef, and scramble eggs. I had a fabulous day in Center Island!

Howard

Today, we went to centre Island. It was Canada day and Day 2 of the Monticle Leadership Training Camp. We learned a lesson on time management and why you shouldn’t be late. As well we learnt a lesson on leadership and self-reflection. Then we had a bountiful feast in China town. Today was an educational and fun day.

Quince

Today is a great day. We went to centre island with lots of exciting things to do and my favorite is the Bumper cars. It is so fun, The second is the scary ride, But it is not really scary, I didn’t ate anything for dinner. Because I fell asleep! Ha! We went inside the military base for a visit, Today is so fun, I can’t wait until tomorrow! J

As you can see, today was Canada Day. We all expected a trip to Canada’s capital to join in the celebration, but a quick change of plans lead us to Centre Island instead. The weather was great, and it complimented the view of the CN tower as we took the ferry to Centre Island. The ferry and the “skyline” reminded me of Hong Kong, when I used to take the star ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui. After lunch and a few activities, we got what we were waiting for….. free time! My group and I immediately went to Centreville and bought an all day pass. Of all the rides, I enjoyed the Scrambler most. When we went on it, the lights went off, and we started to spin. Then, music started to play, and colored lights zooms across the room. We were all unhappy when it ended, and we rode it for multiple times. After all the fun and craziness, we had dinner at a restaurant in Chinatown, where I ate a whole slice of lemon. It was great!

What was meant to be a loud, crowded, crazy, awesome day turned out to be a day of Amusement park rides, drawing, hyper, hyperactiveness in center island! In the blurry and half awaken morning I woke up a little later than usual causing me to get prepared in 10 minutes, then as usual we went to the HQ for breakfast but this morning Billy shared a lot of his fantastic and humorous stories which left us chuckles on the ride to the Military base. After that we walked along way to the harbour while carrying a large heavy backpack with a camera inside. When we reached the harbour we stayed in line and ended up splitting into two boats reaching the harbour in time on a 100yr old boat. Then drew and presented about our environment around us and headed out for fun. We didn’t really go on any rides instead went strolling around the island and I met my destined…. Cotton candy!!!! I wasn’t able to buy my candy because my money is in too much of a number so the generous Howard payed for me using the lucky $5 found on the floor. We had an awesome day! I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.
