Day 24 - Enhancement Training - A walk to the Falls - Day 3

Yes! The Momticle Legend Team have brought you good news! We made it! We made the legend happen at 23:42 on August 11th! We had spent three days walking, from Richmond Hill (accurately Billy's apartment - starting at 07:00 on August 9th) to Niagara Falls. Moreover, we walked the most today - 60 km - twenty something km more than the past days. Good job guys!

Besides having the longest walk today, we had another challenge - having liquid as food only for twelve hours continuously. Well, Billy made us drinks as meals because he intended to make our body lighter, so that we could travel faster. Luckily, we got painkillers to get rid of our pain, got adapted to constant walking speed of 5 km per hour, and we got the only motto for our team - 'Pain is your best buddy, because it tells you that you are still alive. So, get the job done and get the hell home!' Because of this motto, everybody just shut their mind up, ignoring the pain and let the body become autopilot.

The hardest thing for the whole trip is not about sucking up the pain or the weather conditions, but the restart. Once we got rested, we just don't want to walk again, unless we got food stores in front of us... However, if one of us restarted, stood up and grab his back pack, everybody would follow. If one does something, the others will follow him or her, doing the same thing he does. Therefore, we could do it as a team, and get the job done as a team.

'The closer to the destination, the more difficult to achieve.' Billy said. Once we knew that we still only have around ten kilometers to go, we started to degrade our momentum, and somehow our team was split far far away. Luckily Billy got his voice to yell us back and reunite as a team. Unfortunately, for the last five km, Billy got an enormous pain at his right foot - the leg Billy got his kneel and ankle broken at once. As he had seen so many cases like getting hurt at the last few hundred meters, we carried it out extraordinarily carefully and tried not to make any injuries. There's a Chinese saying - Being careful will make your boat travel for ten thousand years' - we finally could be able to reach the Niagara Falls mall's door together, take a picture inside it with our respectful Canadian flag, then grab our life achievement certificate to prove yourself that you can do it! Edwin could be able to finish the Robert Land 90 km hike with no hesitation, Alastair could be able to tell his father he made it and Jason could be able to show his strength to his sister Jennifer and so on. The reason why people walking beside us said we were crazy is not because we were really insane, but because they think they won't be able to do it. Guys, once you have your mind power, you will make it!

Last but not least, thank you for the support of all family members of the Monticle Family, and hopefully your great support will make more legends of Monticle happen!

  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!

I can feel your joy when arriving the destination, meeting the family and friends.

    I salute you all!!

p.s. Billy, you got a very nice Salomon S-Lab 4 XT Wings. Are they good? Michael's are for "flat-feet", the only sport shoes specifically designed for flat feet that I can find just before he came to Monticle.
