Day 14 - Gros Morne

It’s time for another Monticle update! It seems like just yesterday we were packing up to leave on this expedition but it’s already been 14 days! There are only a couple of more days left but we’re making the best of it.

Last night, we didn’t make it to Gros Morne National Park, so we stopped at Clarenville Inn and stayed overnight. After a nice, relaxing rest, we set out again in the morning.

We stopped at Sobeys to buy our groceries and had out brunch in the parking lot. People were staring but they didn’t kick us out, that’s Newfoundland for you, everyone is nice!

After filling our stomachs, we spent the rest of the day on the road to get to Gros Morne National Park. This time the road was paved, this means, no more bumpy rides! :)

We had planned to camp out but decided it would have been safer to try a cottage so Billy drove in to see if it was a reasonable price. Originally the cottage was booked but we got lucky, again! The people called in half an hour before our arrival to cancel and we also got the cottage for half price! Why you ask? The owner is a retired military officer, what a nice man!

So we’re going to stay at this nice cozy cottage for two nights. Tomorrow, we plan to get some hiking done. The walk may be tiring but we’re all sure the scenery will be satisfying, we can’t wait!

Be sure to check on us again! :)
