Day 17 - Nova Scotia

It has already been day 17! Can you believe it? We can’t.

So, as you all know, the last time we blogged, we said we were going to go on the ferry. After a difficult night, we finally arrived in Nova Scotia in the morning. We drove a little bit before eating breakfast at a lookout point. While we ate sandwiches, we were taking in the beauty of Nova Scotia. It was indeed, a very peaceful breakfast.

We later entered Cabot Trail, the world’s famous trail! We did a lot of sightseeing and ever scenery was more attractive than the next. It was such a nice day too! Nova Scotia is so mesmerizing.

After visiting a couple of wonderful sightseeing areas, we decided to stop for lunch. We wanted to try what Nova Scotia is famous for – seafood. Billy drove us to a small restaurant with a decent view of the ocean called, Chowder House Seafood. We had a big lunch; Clam Chowder Soup, Fish n’ Chips, fried scallops and lobster sandwiches. Everything was fresh and everything was certainly delicious! If you visit Nova Scotia, be sure to find this restaurant! Yum.

We drove to a couple more sightseeing areas and continued to be amazed. We tried to spot some whales but unfortunately, no luck. We finally stopped at the visitor’s centre at around 4 and found a place to camp.

That’s right, we’re camping tonight in Cheticamp! The mosquitoes and black flies must be happy to know that we’re camping in their territory. Oh well, this is all part of the adventure. What’s a little bug bite or two? As long as we’re all having fun, enjoying ourselves and learning new things along the way.

Before we went off to bed we went to watch a Scottish concert that was being held at the Visitor’s centre. The singer had an amazing voice and provided us with entertaining for a good hour.

After a tiring day, it’s time to rest up for tomorrow because we still have a lot to do and see before we return to Toronto. We’ll continue to keep in touch! 
