Bravo group Day 14

Today was a preparation day; preparation for the Monticle Challenge tomorrow, as well as the Niagara Falls walk the day after. We started off with a quick breakfast of Ritz crackers, Oreos, and soy milk, in order to maximize our time to buy supplies and equipment, as well as pack our bags. After breakfast, we got into our Niagara walk teams and received a package with the route we were supposed to take. Billy went over the route with us, and also showed us the items that he was packing (as well as how to pack things inside plastic bags to keep them from getting wet). We were also told that each three-man team would receive $100, while larger four-man teams would receive a relatively larger sum. With this given money, we were to buy the food and supplies that our team would need on the walk. Billy suggested some powdered drinks because of the weight and convenience.

We then had a lunch of BBQ pork, duck, or chicken, as we did for last night’s dinner, before going to “Le Baron” to buy equipment. There, some of us bought walking sticks that will, at maximum efficiency, allow us to travel 20% faster. Some of us also opted to buy new day packs at the suggestion of Billy—for greater capacity, relieve strain on the back, and ventilation to help cool us down o n the walk. After that, we headed to Walmart to start buying our food and supplies. It really tested our critical thinking and budgeting skills because we were also working under a time limit. We headed to Costco to buy food for tomorrow’s Monticle Challenge. Now, we are at HQ, packing our bags for the Walk.

Goodbye all, and stay tuned for tomorrow’s events!
