Day 22 – Toronto, Ontario

Day 22 – Toronto, Ontario

Home again. Well, at least, back to the beginning; the start of it all. We’ve finally gone full circle, and are back at the Monticle office.

We slept in the office late last night (I’m not sure if I mentioned that before, I was tired then, and still am). The floor is unbelievably comfy when you’re exhausted; just pull out your sleeping bag, and inflate your air mattress if you’ve still got the energy to do so, and you’re out like a light, and sleeping like a log for the next couple of hours.

We woke up after a 5 hour sleep, and slowly, our brains thawed out. We discovered that Steve had joined us early in the morning. We packed all of our gear, and were ready to go.

We headed up to Markham to pick up (remember them?) Jacky and Calvin Su! They came along for the ride, and to help out. From the looks of things, Viv really missed them.

We had discovered a crack in the windshield yesterday, and we went to get it fixed in Richmond Hill. We compared and talked about both Expeditions. (I think the front desk guy at the auto glass place thought we were a little off our rockers…) I have to say, we had pretty interesting experiences on both sides. It’s the little funny moments that we vividly remember, and tell everyone.

We then went to Anthony’s house to bathe our Sprinter, both inside and out. Did you know that there’s a special sun screen for the inside of the car? Do you know how fun it is to wash the roof of the car? Or the wheels, for that matter?

Washing the Sprinter really was like our own little reunion, the entire TransCanada family. Michael was on the phone with us, so technically he was there. Anthony actually wasn’t there in person, but it was his house…so I guess that counts? Hopefully, though, Viv was cheered by our reunion. :D

After totally scrubbing the car clean and devoid of any particle of dust (That’s an exaggeration…we couldn’t remove all of the dust in the vehicle, believe me, we tried), we went for Dim Sum!

After eating our hearts out, and joking around, we were headed back to Toronto. Well, on the car, that was pretty much the hardest I’ve ever seen some of us laugh. What can ya say? Some of us do pretty stupid things. East trip kids getting scared of a door that seemingly opened by itself. West kids falling into Moraine Lake. (Insert sigh here. But you’re smiling as you sigh, right?)

We actually met Wai-Kee on the way back, walking down the street to the office with a sub in his hand, and in uniform. We called him, and waved as we passed him. :D

This trip, actually both trips were unforgettable. It was definitely a different experience for all of us. We all learned a lot about ourselves and each other, and we also learned a lot from ourselves and each other. We achieved a lot, and will continue to achieve more.

This is sounding cheesy, but it’s true. I’m sure we’ll all miss each other; we’ve just all had that kind of impact on each other. The bottom line is that wherever we went, wherever we are, and wherever we will go, the view, the experience, and the people that we meet are always, always, always, always worth it.

This will be the last part in this chapter. With this, the saga of the TransCanada Expeditions is complete.

Just wait though; we'll be back with something even more exciting! xD
